Covid-19 Testing- Temporarily closed

Chequers Health Group is a CQC accredited organisation and is clinically led, priding itself in delivering a high quality and timely service.

We have a very experienced and reputable (laboratory) clinical team which is led by Dr Maged Gharib (Consultant Haematologist). The team has significant experience in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Haematology which has been gained through working across NHS organisations as well as hospital laboratories throughout Europe.

Chequers has a laboratory dedicated to COVID-19 testing. All our equipment is CE registered and is fully tested for the purpose of providing Covid-19 tests.

Chequers Health Group has formally declared that the organisation meets the UK government’s minimum standards for providing General COVID-19 Testing.  Chequers are also listed on the UK Government website as a provider for General COVID-19 Testing.

What Services do we offer?

Chequers offer two of types of testing service.

  • On site testing at our Mayfair laboratory at Chequers Health Centre, Rushlake Drive, Bolton, BL1 3RL
  • Postal service (Supported by DPD and Royal Mail)

General COVID Test

We offer a standard COVID 19 PCR Test which can be used if you are:

  • Showing symptoms and want to know if you have COVID 19 virus.
  • Not showing symptoms however feel unwell and would like the reassurance to know that you do not have the COVID 19 virus.

Postal Testing Service

Once you have identified which test you require follow this link (insert link to buy test kit) to our online booking page. You will be asked a series of questions which is required in order to complete you test.  (Please read our Privacy Notice (http://chequershealth.co.uk/privacy-notice/ on how we treat your information).

All orders placed by 2pm Monday-Friday will be dispatched the same day.  Orders received after this time will be dispatched the next day.  Please note orders placed after 2pm Friday, Saturday/Sunday will be dispatched on Monday.

Where an order is placed by 2pm Friday this will be delivered by DPD on Saturday.

This test can be purchased for £39

Chequers Health Group have partnered with DPD and Royal Mail to ensure an efficient and reliable delivery service. You will your test by DPD delivery. which you will return using the prepaid Royal Mail service. You must post your test into a designated Royal Mail Post Box (please follow this link to identify your local COVID-19 Testing post box in your area https://www.royalmail.com/priority-postboxes).

Where a test returned via Royal Mail on a Friday, this will be delivered to our laboratory on Monday. When a test is posted on Saturday/Sunday these will arrive at laboratory on Tuesday.

In your pack you will receive the following:

  • Instructions for carrying out your test and customer consent form
  • 1UN3373 return envelope (with Royal Mail prepaid label/purple COVID 19 sticker).
  • Specimen transport bag (Includes an absorbent pad)
  • 1 swab plus sample collection tube.
  • 3 barcode labels.
  • 1 security label (customer return)

You will receive your results within (24hrs) of it arriving at our laboratory.


On Site Testing Service – Chequers Health Centre

Once you have booked your test online, please contact our reception team on 01204 928850 who will arrange an appointment for you to come to the clinic.

On arrival at the clinic, please go to the reception and share with the receptionist your COVID 19 test booking confirmation email.  Once the receptionist has booked you in, you will be handed your COVID 19 test kit and asked to register your details using our onsite system.

In your COVID 19 test pack, there will be instructions on how to complete your test and what to do with your sample test. Once you have completed your test, this will be handed back to the receptionist.

You will be notified of your result by email (within 24 hours)
