Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This statement sets out Chequers Health Group Ltd.'s actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own operations or supply chains. It is published in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The organisation is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all its activities and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from exploitation.
1. About the Organisation
Chequers Health Group Ltd. is a company registered in England and Wales (company registration number 12653799). Our registered office is Chequers Health Centre, Rushlake Drive, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL1 3RL. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and provide the following regulated activities: Diagnostic and Screening Procedures; Maternity and Midwifery Services; Family Planning; Surgical Procedures; and Treatment of Disease, Disorder, and Injury.
2. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include clinical consumables and equipment suppliers, agency and temporary staffing providers, facilities management and cleaning services, and professional services including IT, legal, and administrative support. We procure from reputable, established suppliers and take steps to understand the risk of modern slavery within these supply chains.
3. Policies in Relation to Modern Slavery
The following policies reflect the organisation's commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking:
· Recruitment and Agency Workers: the organisation uses only reputable employment agencies to source staff and verifies the practices of any new agency before contracting with them.
· Human Resources Policy: the Code of Conduct sets out the behaviours and standards expected of all employees, including the discharge of safeguarding duties that extend to the identification and reporting of modern slavery risks.
· Whistleblowing Policy: the organisation encourages all workers, customers, and business partners to report any concerns related to its activities, including any circumstances that may give rise to a risk of slavery or human trafficking. All disclosures can be made without fear of retaliation.
4. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
The organisation takes the following steps to identify and address modern slavery risks:
· Regular review of policies to ensure they clearly address modern slavery and human trafficking risks.
· Safeguarding training for all staff to enable them to understand and respond to modern slavery indicators.
· Verification of agency and supplier practices before engagement, with ongoing monitoring for significant contracts.
· Any allegation or suspected instance of slavery or human trafficking is investigated with urgency in accordance with the safeguarding procedures and reported to the relevant authorities.
5. Effectiveness and Future Steps
The organisation will continue to assess the effectiveness of its approach and will review this statement annually. Priorities for the coming year include strengthening supplier due diligence processes and ensuring that modern slavery awareness is embedded in staff induction and ongoing training.
